Book theme party

This is a Book Theme Party that I recently decorated.
When I design a party, it is so nice when I can incorporate personal items. For this party I used Family photos , records and lots of books.

One of many altered mason jars filled with Baby's breath and hand made butterflies

Card box- Burlap, lace and crackle finish cover the box. On the top, layers of decorative paper, photo, lots of flowers and wood letters spelling out name.
The letters are from GSLcuts  Link attached!

Music theme table runner. On top of runner I added an album(on the bottom of album are wood feet I painted black) Each table had its own music theme.

View of the full table.

Candles for Candle lighting. Made from tree branches! They were so pretty!

You can see the texture of the bark.

For the adult tables we did a book theme. We used the Family's books for the centerpieces

The bookmarks were the place cards. (Better photos of the place card table coming soon!)
Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Goodies!

Good morning everyone. Today I have a few Halloween goodies to share with you. First up is a piece made with the Artist Trading Blocks  , Spiderweb Shape Set , Spooky Shape Set and the
Tombstone Stand Ups .

I used white gesso and black chalk paint to paint every thing. I glued thick wire to the back of each piece with hot glue. I glued a piece of floral foam into the box and then arranged all the pieces.

Next up, Halloween Stocking ornament/tags. So fun to make! I used the template that I have for my Christmas Stockings.

I picked two contrasting papers, traced the template onto one of the papers. I cut both pieces out together so the are identical. Next, choose which paper will be the base. The other paper gets cut up to make the toes and heel pieces. Whats left of the second paper gets cut up to make the cuff. Then add all the goodies!

Mini Christmas houses

Hello, today I made a trio of Christmas decorated houses using the Cabana Row House Set and the Snowflake Shape Set .

For the first house, I used masking tape for texture. I also used some of the bricks from the Brick Wall 2 sheet . I painted a coat of gesso over all of the house. Once the gesso was dry, I used distress inks to add color. (I cut windows out before adding the texture).
For the second house, I sponged gesso through the Brick sheet. Let it dry and inked with Distress Ink.
The third house I ran through a wood texture folder and inked with Distress ink in walnut stain. I cut the snowflakes in half and glued to the edge of the roof. For all of the houses, I cut the bottoms out. It makes it easy to sit the houses over battery opperated tea lights. Have a great day!

Fall Tags

Good morning. For this project I made fall tags using the X-Large tags and the 3D Chipboard tree for the base of the tags. I covered the tags in fall paper, inked the edges with walnut stain Distress Ink and the smudged white paint on some of the edges. I only used one side of the tree. I cut the tree down the center, then painted both sections brown. Once dry, I rubbed the tree with gold paste. I attached one section to each of the tags. I used the Fall Shape Set  to finish the tags.
Have a Happy Crafty Day!!!

Spooky Inn

Good morning. For my second DT project , I made a Spooky Inn sign using the Key & Crest Wall Hanging . I painted the crest with black chalk paint. Once dry, I sponged the out side edge with brown and gold paint. I then painted Inn at the bottom .

Instead of using the key (I'll use that for another project), I made a witches broom for the top. I painted a paper straw black, gathered some raffia and hot glued into the end of the straw.

I used the Old Bottle Miniature Shape Set and the Spiderweb Shape Set to decorate the sign.

I also used the Spooky Shape Set all over the crest. Have a great day!
