Spooky Inn

Good morning. For my second DT project , I made a Spooky Inn sign using the Key & Crest Wall Hanging . I painted the crest with black chalk paint. Once dry, I sponged the out side edge with brown and gold paint. I then painted Inn at the bottom .

Instead of using the key (I'll use that for another project), I made a witches broom for the top. I painted a paper straw black, gathered some raffia and hot glued into the end of the straw.

I used the Old Bottle Miniature Shape Set and the Spiderweb Shape Set to decorate the sign.

I also used the Spooky Shape Set all over the crest. Have a great day!

Three Sisters

Good morning, I am the Guest Designer for the month of October. I love Halloween! For my first project I used the Triptych Towers Top . I painted the chip board with black chalk paint. Once that was dry I sponged the triptych pieces with black, metallic gold and brown paints using a wet on wet sponge. I set them a side to dry.
I used paper from the TH Laboratorie paper collection. The paper was very grey, so I used Distress Ink in antique linen to warm them up.
Next, I cut the portraits into an oval shape and edged them in black soot Distress Ink.
For the hat, I used a triangle punch. I eyed the length of the hat to fit the photo and cut the rest off. I cut a strip off of the bottom of the triangle to make the brim of the hat. I distressed the pieces and shaped the hat. Added a gold sticker to make the buckle and finished it off with some gold paint rubbed on the edges of the hat.

I decided not to attach the pieces together. I will be placing them on three different shelves.
Have a great day and I'll see you all next week!

Home is where the heart is

Good morning, I've been creating in my art journal lately  and wanted to share a page with you,

I love how it turned out!

I used water colors and salt for the back ground. I mixed different shades of pinks and oranges together, misted the page with water and sprinkled salt all over it, Let dry over night and brushed off the salt the next day. I only had table salt to work with but sea salt would be great to use. Next I used gesso and a stencil all over the page.

I cut the heart out of a box, sprayed with water to expose the corrugated under neath. When dry, I used water colors  and gesso. The wings are from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts,

I painted a scrap sheet of cardstock with the same water colors and cut out the Hearts and house,
I used a black sharpie marker to add some detail.
Thanks for taking a look and happy crafting!

Christmas Baubles!!!

Good morning :)
I have a Christmas ornament to share with you all.
First I want to share the inspiration from Pixie Hill. so awesome!
Here is my take

Mine are plastic. I could not find the glass baubles that Nichola used.
I love how they turned out and can't wait to give them to my Family!
Happy Crafting!

I almost forgot to mention the candle from the dollar store.
I used a tree line die cut in white, glued around the candle.
To finish it off, I added white glitter to the bottom.

Here is a photo of the candle turned on.
Have a great day!
