This weeks DT project for Gina's Designs

Good morning all Deann here with

a DT project for Gina's Designs.

For this project I made a Harvest Banner

Gina will be selling these little beauties by the letter (coming soon)

I chose  the word Harvest

I love the fall colors ! 

I colored the book page rosettes with rusty hinge and moss green
Distress Inks.  

When I make these banners ,I like to flip every other one over.
I ink or gesso  the corrugated ones and paper the others.

Altered Fan Tutorial

Good Morning :)

Deann here with an Altered project and Tutorial for

Gina's Designs

Gina has this awesome chipboard fan -

 

This is the fan after I (well..my Mum) Painted it gold.
The first time I saw the fan I thought it would make awesome Christmas Ornaments!
Turned up side down , they make really pretty tear drops .

This is what I used for each ornament.

First you will need to set the back, to do this I glued 2 leaves on then an oval  over
top to cover the glue up, make it look neater .
The reason for doing the back of the ornament this way is to hide all the glue
from the front embellishments. 

Next- the front , first add your image to the center .

Next- add the leaf and poinsettia.
Add one of the mini roses on to the leaf.
( I like to wrap the rose stem around a paint brush to get
that really nice curl ) 

Add the other rose and snowflake...almost done :)

Now you just need to add the bow and hanger to the top
and ta da ......you got your self 6 really awesome ornaments !

I colored the camera with Black Soot Distress ink and used Bo Bunny Paper.

My Design Team Project for Gina's Designs

Good morning everyone , Deann here with a project for Gina's Designs !

Today I made the Mini Display Tray - Butterfly

I love making these trays ! I used a BoBunny paper  (can't remember the name)
I did a messy paint job with white spray paint, I wanted some of the wood to show through.

I used one of the Cardstock Doily s, I rubbed a little blue ink on the edges of the Doily.
The Banner is from the Mini Pennant set.

I love how the Garden Fairy turned out, I just added layers of paint and inks to her and finished
off with a white wash.
I also added a Dragonfly and bent the wings up so it looks like its flying. 

I also added a Butterfly from the same collection.

Altered Spool

Hi everyone :)

I recently made an Altered Spool for a challange over at The Craft Hole,

and I wanted to share with you all how I make my spools-

I LOVE to recycle ! When I make my spools I use a paper towel
roll and cut it to what ever size I need. For the ends of the spool
I like to take apart empty ribbon spools for a perfect circle.

Trace the paper towel roll onto a pc. of chipboard or cereal box
2 or 3 times for each end. Cut them out a tiny bit smaller and
glue together. Glue the circles to the center of the spool ends
This is to add the glue for the spool. 

All done !

All the goodies have been added:)
